What is Happening with Interest Rates?
Clients are asking me, "What is happening with interest rates?". The cost of borrowing money is going up. If you were around in 1980 when rates went up to 17-18%, you have the benefit of perspective. So you understand rates are still relatively low. With the economy doing so well, the FED feels like they can boost rates, without doing much damage. We are told more increases are coming.

When you combine a booming economy with moderately rising interest rates we see nothing but opportunities on the horizon. Nearly every commercial real estate sector is flourishing by consumers not afraid to spend their money in a time of prosperity. And rents are rising as a result.

This can make a compelling reason for owner occupied real estate and becoming an owner rather than a renter. Instinct tells me to encourage you to get off the fence and lock in rates now while the cost of money is still "cheap".
