As you are well aware, the situation with the pandemic is highly fluid. Hotchkiss is working to maximize safety as we reopen the School for the fall, and as a result, we are continuing to adjust operating procedures. In line with this, we have an important update regarding the August 29 SAT.

In light of the health concerns that have arisen as students return to college campuses, as well as national trends in the spread of the virus, Hotchkiss has decided that students should not sit for the August 29 SAT.*

Seniors: Please register for September 23 and October 14 test dates
The School will offer SAT School Day testing for all seniors on September 23 and October 14. Ms. Grusauski sent information about signing up for these test dates directly to students on August 4 and August 14. If you have not already registered, you have until the late deadline of August 23 to do so.

Please refer to Ms. Grusauski's emails, and contact her directly if you need additional information. If you are unable to sign up by August 23, please be sure to notify her. She will order extra tests to account for students who could not register by the deadline.

If you have already registered for the August 29 test, please check your College Board account as it may be possible to get a refund or to apply your August registration fees to the November or December national test dates.

*If you will be a distance learner in the fall, you may use your discretion in taking the August 29 test. We strongly encourage you to follow all safety protocols if you do so.

Additional dates: November and December
Hotchkiss will also offer the SAT and Subject Tests in November. You will be able to sign up for these tests on the College Board website. In most cases, November scores are timely for students who apply early decision or early action.

Seniors may also want to consider taking the December SAT near their home. December tests can be used for regular decision.

Upper mids may use the December SAT as their first testing opportunity, but waiting to begin their testing after January 1, 2021 is fine.

We recognize that information about testing has continued to change over the summer, and we regret any inconvenience or anxiety this may cause. We remain committed to ensuring that all Hotchkiss students have full access to the standardized testing they need.
