Emerging Leaders Association supports scholarship recipients before finals
Members of the College Now Emerging Leaders Association (ELA) met at our downtown Resource Center earlier this month to make care packages for our freshman and sophomore scholarship recipients at Baldwin Wallace University. In the goodie bags were small school supplies, stress relievers, and snacks. Members of the ELA delivered the bags to grateful students after the Thanksgiving break. Thanks to the ELA for their support of our scholarship recipients!

College Now recognizes longstanding partner: Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation
The Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation has been a generous funder of College Now since 1976. The Foundation itself was created through gifts and bequests from Kelvin Smith, one of the co-founders of the Lubrizol Corporation, and his wife, Eleanor. Today, several generations of the Smith family serve as trustees and officers of The Foundation.
Since its inception in 1955, the Foundation has focused its support on non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio that exemplify excellent adherence to their missions and creativity in their approach, demonstrate fiscal responsibility, and provide leadership in service to the community.
As Ohio’s oldest and largest college access organization, College Now is routinely recognized as a thought leader on postsecondary educational attainment and consistently earns a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, in significant part because of our strong fiscal practices. College Now is honored to meet the Foundation’s criteria for grantmaking.
College Now is most grateful to the Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation for its longstanding commitment to postsecondary educational attainment and its recognition of College Now’s important role in assisting individuals across Northeast Ohio access and achieve their educational objectives.
