Points from the Principal
Welcome to our first edition of Star Tracker, our newly formatted newsletter that will come out bi-monthly to keep our families informed about the great things happening at West, along with important dates and information you need to know.

We are glad to be back at school and refreshed after spring break. The students seem thrilled to be back to learning and socializing with their peers. Our first ever Spring Pace Week went well, with 21 students attending to help get caught up with their power standards and learning targets. We are grateful for your partnership in helping your children succeed.

We want to thank all of our families who were able to attend winter conferences, as we piloted a new appointment system. The great news is that we had the highest turnout ever for winter conferences. We also learned that in the future, we will offer two nights in the winter to allow more slots for parents who want to conference with teachers. Thanks for your patience.

Testing season is here! Although students took the MCA Reading test three weeks ago, we begin testing again next week. This means more than ever, that all students need a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast so that we can get an accurate reflection of their achievement levels. This allows us to put programs and interventions/enrichments in place to help all students succeed.

Our next PTO meeting is April 12th from 4:00-5:00pm in our office Large Conference Room. Please join other parents, teachers and me to get involved and make valuable connections.
