Narragansett High School Newsletter
March 2019

Hello NHS families,

It is hard to believe March has arrived! Time does move fast.
On Friday, February 22nd, the high school hosted a dynamic group called M & P presentations. The entire student body and staff were energized with their message of "embracing the awkward." Other underlying themes of the presentation were to smile and be comfortable with who we are, as well as being kind and courteous. The auditorium was filled with positive energy from the presenters and our student volunteers. I have had many students state that,"it was the best assembly we have ever had."

Winter athletics are winding down, but not over yet. We have our boys basketball team playing in the Division 2 semi-final playoff game this Friday, March 1st, at North Kingstown High School.
Spring sports are right around the corner, team coaches are planning on meeting with students soon. These meetings are announced daily. Please contact the athletics office, if you have any questions. All student athletes must sign up on FamilyID every season.

Finally, Mr Warner is doing wonderfully while recovering from his successful kidney transplant. He is still in Colorado with a planned return to RI in mid-March. So far all of the tests for both Mr. Warner and his donor are coming back with high scores.

Here is another fabulous news story about our own Dan Warner! This story aired in Denver, CO., where Dan underwent a kidney transplant in December 2018. We are expecting Dan to be back at Narragansett High School in mid March.
