December 2018
A Message from the Director
Where has December gone?! If you're like I am, you still have a lot to do during this month of celebration, including finding the right gifts for friends and family. An easy way to cross items off your to-do list is to give the gift of green energy this year. For all the people in your life who share your commitment to a sustainable future, a gift membership in GEO is the perfect present. Your contribution will support innovative programming and they will be a member of an organization dedicated to moving clean energy forward in Ohio.

To purchase a gift membership, go to GEO Holiday Membership , submit your name, the recipient's name, and the recipient's email address. For $35 you can give the gift of an annual GEO membership! We will inform them of your generosity.

Last month we highlighted some of our 2018 activities and accomplishments. Below you will find a few of the exciting events we are planning for 2019. Join us on this journey and bring your friends and family along!

Happy Holidays!

Executive Director

Growing Local Solar
We will be replicating last summer’s successful “Growing Local Solar” workshop for local officials and activists in the Dayton area, partnering with the Ohio Environmental Council, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, and the Hanley Institute for Sustainability at the University of Dayton. Keep in touch for a date to be announced.
Celebrating Green Energy Achievers
Please mark your calendar for Thursday, April 25! The 2019 Green Energy Ohio Annual Meeting and Reception will be held at Kent State University. We will hear from award winners for outstanding achievement by businesses, nonprofits, academic institutions, and government entities, as well as have a chance to enjoy the company of other GEO members and supporters.  Stay tuned for more details on this great event!

Honor the Earth
Earth Day
Once again, GEO will be promoting and participating in Earth Day activities throughout Ohio. Send us your planned events and we will post them on our website and in social media. As we approach the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, GEO will be looking for new ways to educate Ohioans on the challenges and opportunities for saving the planet, starting with our piece of it!
