Independent Bookstore Day 
Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day!
Join us on Saturday, April 28th for the national party that takes place at Indie Bookstores across the country!

We'll be celebrating with ten local authors who will be roaming the store, talking to you and your kids, and giving you book suggestions and recommendations. (Of course we'll let them sign books too!)

We'll also have activities, including a
kids' coloring table and storytelling. Join us for the fun from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Nancy's latest book, Soldier Sister, Fly Home, is an older middle grade story featuring Tess, a half Navajo girl who struggles with her identity on and off the reservation, as well as her sister's decision to enlist and fight in the Iraq war. Paul Aertker is a regular at our local author events and on Independent Bookstore Day he'll be in the back of the store in our middle grade and YA section, talking books and making friends all day. Paul has a new book coming outt his year and we'll tell you more about that soon. In the meantime, his series, Crime Travelers continues to be a Bookies favorite.

Our concert with the students of Neighborhood Music Stapleton takes place in the store on Saturday, April 14th from 3-4:30 p.m. Browse for books while listening to live music played by talented children--what could be better?

Also on Saturday, April 14th, from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, we're hosting a small meeting of The Listen Foundation, featuring speaker Rob Frantum-Ellen, who will be discussing activities and language games for children with hearing loss.
