Orbital ATK Announces a New Campus for Launch Vehicle Operations in Chandler

Orbital ATK
, one of the world's leading aerospace and defense technology firms, announced the expansion of the company's launch vehicles operations onto a new campus in Chandler.
The new Orbital ATK campus will be located at Willis Road along the Price Corridor, known for being home to leading edge companies focused on advanced business services, aerospace, life sciences, and high technology research and manufacturing.
With the expansion, Orbital ATK will occupy 617,000 square feet in two buildings on a 47-acre campus. Orbital ATK's launch vehicle business in Chandler began in the 1980s and has grown to nearly 1,600 employees.
The company hired 250 employees at its Chandler facility in 2017, has plans to fill 200 open positions, and eventually expand its Chandler workforce by another 50 employees over the next year and a half.
Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny said he appreciated Orbital ATK's continued faith in the City expressed through their selection of Chandler for this expansion project. "Orbital ATK has long been an anchor on the Price Corridor and a vital contributor to Chandler's reputation as the Innovation and Technology Hub of the Southwest. We have seen a number of Chandler companies expand their workforces this past year, and these new, high-level engineering jobs will have a tremendous impact to the region as Orbital ATK continues its strong investment in Chandler."

Westech Business Center Breaks Ground
The Westech Business Center broke ground on Monday, marking the latest speculative industrial development to begin construction in the Uptown Chandler employment corridor. The project's owner and developer is Petsas Commercial, LLC, a development firm started in 2017 by Bill Petsas.
Once complete in October, the 122,505-square-foot industrial facility will incorporate an attractive design coupled with state-of-the-art features making it ideal for a myriad of industrial users, including corporate headquarters, logistics, last mile distribution, assembly, and manufacturing.
Located at 300 E. Palomino Dr., the facility boasts a strategic location at the center of the East Valley with quick access to three freeways (US-60, Loop 101, and Loop 202). It aims to attract companies desiring connectivity and the ability to tap into Uptown Chandler's large and well-educated workforce.

he PHX East Valley Angel Investor Initiative is a regional partnership to catalyze economic growth by raising awareness of the importance of angel investing and enhancing access to early-stage funding for area technology startups. The initiative is led by East Valley Partnership, Arizona Tech Investors and PHX East Valley member communities, including Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek and Apache Junction.
Our mission is to identify, educate and activate potential angel investors in the PHX East Valley. Free workshops are held to introduce the knowledge and tools needed to invest. The first workshop series was hosted by the City of Chandler from October 2017 to March 2018.
