attached completed entry form

Founders' Day Celebration
The PTA was founded in 1897 as the National Congress of Mothers by Alice McLellan Birney and Phoebe Apperson Hearst, they represented women of imagination and courage. They had a simple idea—to improve the lives and future of all children. They understood the power of individual action, worked beyond the accepted barriers of their day, and took action to change the world for all children.
On February 20, 2020 at 6 PM at La Centre, we will honor those who champion the goals of the PTA founders at our Founders’ Day Celebration. They join an exemplary list of our
past winners
. Please contact
[email protected]
with any comments or questions.

Are you interested in collaborating with your student's classroom PTA Head Room Parent to plan and to volunteer during the Winter Party? A school-wide online sign up will be utilized to secure in-class volunteers for the PTA sponsored Winter Party. Look for this sign up to go LIVE on Wednesday, November 20 at 7 PM on all WES communication platforms (eblast, Remind, Facebook).
To be inclusive of as many families as possible, the PTA asks that only one adult family member sign up for only one “Party Volunteer” role per child for the year. If you were an in-class volunteer for the Halloween party and you have an interest in volunteering for more parties, please sign up as a “Party Volunteer ALTERNATE
.”
Alternate(s) will be notified, in the event of a cancellation or open space. Signing up as a Party Volunteer in the same classroom for multiple parties which results in other families inability to sign up to participate will result in your sign up being moved to the alternate list.
PTA classroom parties are just one of the volunteer opportunities at WES. Families are also encouraged to stay informed of volunteer opportunities by signing up for the PTA eblast and/or attending PTA meetings. Our next meeting is December 5 at 7 PM in the cafeteria.

The WES PTA “Adult Social Committee” is a group committed to creating opportunities for parents from all 4 of our neighborhood schools to mix and mingle in a fun environment. Our mission is to create quarterly opportunities to engage our community members in “Parents Only” activities designed to create new friendships and fun!
Our 1st event will be at Board and Brush in Westlake. If you are unfamiliar, B&B is a creative studio where you can make personalized signs and decor. The best news is that you don’t need to be creative at all because they teach each step! With Holidays around the corner perhaps you’d make a personalized gift for someone? Bring in your own snacks & studio sells soft drinks, wine and beer for your enjoyment.
Please join us for a fun afternoon of creativity, camaraderie and a cocktail, if you like.
Where: Board & Brush Creative Studio in Westlake
Cost: The WES “adult social committee” has negotiated a discounted rate for our event.
The cost is $50 p/p. It’s payable upon registration. Click
here
for the link to sign up! Don’t wait! We have limited space (only 40 spots) so get in early to guarantee your spot.
