Thank you for attending the 2017 WTS SW Idaho Chapter Superheroes' Award Gala.

What a fantastic night we all enjoyed! We celebrated 9 charter members that have made a profound impact to our WTS SW Idaho Chapter .

Our members and guests had a great time dressing up as superheroes to celebrate this wonderful year of award winners and to recognize our chapter partners who support our activities throughout the year. The turnout of heroes and their sidekicks, has been our largest to date with over 110 in attendance!

Heidi announced our 2 scholarship winners. Holly Terrill and her proud father drove from Moscow to attend the Awards Gala and receive her scholarship award presentation. What a great moment for the Terrill family.

Carrie Applegate, our very own WTS MC, rocked it once again with loads of laughs as she introduced our partners.

Thank you to our amazing event sponsors for highlighting and introducing our award recipients. The award winners were truly an example of what makes our transportation industry far above anywhere else in the country.

This was our first year with event sponsorships and we were appreciative to have filled every category.

We will have the WTS Gala award program on our WTS website, please take time to read about our sponsors and award recipients at this link.

Icon Credit Union was our Title Sponsor. We would like to sincerely thank Camille Anderson for attending on behalf of Icon Credit Union and for her fascinating presentation on the history of Icon and  how they have been a part of the Idaho transportation industry since they started. Founded in 1952 with $35.00 from 7 members of the Idaho Department of Highways, they began as Idaho Federal Credit Union. Reflecting values of integrity, service and community.

Lastly, thank you to the Gala Committee for all the hours of hard work!!! You made this a real "POW" "ZAM" event.

We will see you all next year. Remember, it's not too late to start thinking about next years' "Superheroes"!

Thank You,

Your Gala Committee

February Meet & Greet

On February 8th, the WTS SW Idaho chapter hosted a meet and greet with Idaho First Lady Lori Otter at Lucky Finns Downtown on the Grove. After just wrapping up an event for Idaho Women in Leadership (I-WIL), an organization that advances women's leadership in government and business, First Lady Otter took the time to meet with our group and talk about the roles of women in business and local government, as well as the mission of I-WIL. I-WIL aims to increase the number of women in leadership positions in the state of Idaho by offering leadership trainings that help women interested in running for office or that are trying to move up the ladder in the corporate world. First Lady Otter works to help others understand and acknowledge the value and different talents and skills women bring to businesses. She is an engaging and motivating speaker, and the WTS SW Idaho chapter is thankful for her time. Idaho is lucky to have such a passionate woman helping other women achieve greatness in careers and politics throughout the state.

Twenty-four WTS members and non-members attended this event. We hope to hear from Lori Otter again in the future, and learn about her adventures following her time as the First Lady of Idaho.

Julie Valencik has been appointed by the SW Idaho Board of Directors as Vice President for the remainder of this year!

We want to take this time to thank Karie Davidson for her commitment to our WTS SW Idaho Chapter. We will miss you Karie but know you'll be enjoying the Spokane Chapter as you get settled in!
