Movie Time
by Sue Davis

Based on the true story about Bart Millard, lead singer of the Christian band "MercyMe" who is the child of an abusive father who died of pancreatic cancer but not before Millard was able to find God's power in conversion and redemption waiting for him when he returns to home after being out on the road.

The story centers around the chart topping song "I Only Can Imagine" and brings ultimate hope to so many is a gripping reminder of the power of true forgiveness.

Let's go see this movie together on April 24 at 1:40 p.m.  Regal Cinema, El Dorado Hills.  Coffee afterwards.  Pete's Restaurant and Brewery.

Bring Christ's Care to Hurting People-
Become a Stephen Minister!
by Linda West

Do you have gifts of compassion?
Are you a good listener?

Stephen Ministers are lay members of our congregation who receive special training to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are facing a crisis or going through tough times. Some examples of difficult situations are grief, loneliness, divorce, serious illness, disability, job loss, and supporting family members with life challenges.

To find out more about becoming a Stephen Minister, contact Stephen Leaders Bob Gilmore or Sharon Lawrence. Fr Sean Cox can also answer questions.

Applications will be accepted until April 22, and the training will begin in May.

Senior Lunch Bunch
by Sharon Morrison

Senior Lunch Bunch has been cancelled on Tuesday, April 17.

Education for Ministry
by Sharon Morrison

"But I don't want to go to become a Clergy Person.........."

It is surprising how often the above statement is made when someone first hears about the opportunity to join "Education For Ministry" small group at Faith on Monday evenings. (Please click here to read more).

"Lessons from Afar" Rector's Bible Study
by Mary Higbee

Have you ever experienced being in another culture and coming away with some new insights as a result?  Seeing life through the lens of missionaries in South Sudan and learning about the human spirit and God's grace on the other side of the world is the topic of the next Rector's Bible Study beginning April 4 through May 16.  The class will use Mary Higbee's yet unpublished book, Lessons from Afar, and be led by Fr. Sean Cox and Mary. You can join the class at any time even if you could not make the first meeting.

Children's Worship Shelf
by Monica Ness Children's Worship Shelf

Why do we have the Children's Worship Shelf?

* First, it supports our church's mission: ..." Children are welcome, and families are supported."

* Second, it allows children to participate in the worship service and get accustomed to the liturgy. The materials provided allow a child to quietly explore Bible stories and to engage in liturgical play while observing how adults worship .

* Third, a significant body of research indicates that children and young adults who participate in worship along side their parents are more likely to continue with regular spiritual worship practices as adults.  Click this link to learn more.

How is the space to be used?
Parents can help children select one or two items from the worship shelf to take to their seat for use during the service. Children should always be attended to by an adult when at the worship shelf. Materials may be returned to the shelf in good order at the end of the service.

Repairing Home, Rebuilding Neighborhoods and Restoring Lives
Rebuild Together by Carrie Grip

Over 75,000 owner- occupied homes in the Sacramento area are considered substandard. Rebuilding Together understands the connection between the condition of a home and the occupant's ability to thrive and remain living in their own home.

On April 20 and 21, over 400 volunteers will improve the conditions in 13 Rancho Cordova homes owned by people who are low-income, and veterans, those with disabilities and families with children.

Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit organization that improves 500 homes per year. FEC's Mission Team provided a sponsorship for the event.

Volunteers of all skill levels are needed. To register, go to rebuildingtogethersacramento.org.
