Spring into polka action at Czech SpringFest
 
The Harris County Czech Heritage Society invites you to its 23rd Annual Czech SpringFest on Sunday at Lodge 88 in Houston. The Chandelier Ballroom transforms into a Prague street fest complete with great food, vendors, probably the largest silent auction on the polka circuit, country store, Czech heritage booths, and muziky by Kovanda's Czech Band and Texas Legacy Czech Band. Guest artist Marcela Hrabovska of Czech Republic will demonstrate the art of decorating eggs with straw and other materials. I love the guest artist part of this festival. I always find unique gifts for my kids and friends, and now for my granddaughter!

Got some swing happenings in Carmine on Friday night with Asleep at the Wheel, and in San Antonio with the Rocky King Band. Variety on Saturday night with Czechaholics in Angleton, Brave Combo in Austin, Lost Cause in Burton, and New Texas Plainsmen in Sealy. Sunday features Red Ravens in Elgin, Detour in Houston, and Nathan Colt Young in Sweet Home.

Steve recently texted a short, romantic note to his wife while away on a fishing trip. It's easy to make typos when texting. He happened to miss one small "e."  No problem you might think. Not so. This tiny error caused Steve to seek police protection to enter his own house.

He wrote - "Hi darling , I'm enjoying and experiencing the best time of my whole life , and I wish you were her! "
