St. Michael's Academy
:
We ended the week on a high note. Fr. Warren Savage celebrated a truly inspirational
Mass with us today. His message of love one another and prayer touched everyone's heart.
It was a wonderful message to take with us as we begin the season of Lent next week on Ash
Wednesday. We hope that as many of you as possible will join us for our 9:30 Mass on that day.
Enjoy your weekend!
Peace and God's blessings,
Ms. Ann E. Dougal

From The Classroom of Mrs. Santos - Kindergarten

Kindergarten Is Learning History!
Welcome back! February break has come and gone, and there is a lot happening in Mrs. Santos's kindergarten classroom!
As we enter into our second half of the school year, we will be exploring history. Before break we learned all about Rosa Parks, and we thanked her for her bravery. This week we are celebrating the past leaders of our country, beginning with Abraham Lincoln. They were fascinated by how young Abraham was when he began working and all of the jobs he had before leading our country in the fight for civil rights.
In the coming weeks, we will explore different national symbols, and use our much improved writing skills to write facts about these important symbols of the United States of America. I already see some future leaders forming, as we learn the importance of working together to create a nation of unity and respect to each other!

School Mass
We had the privilege today of having Fr. Warren Savage celebrate Mass with us today. What a beautiful message of love and prayer that he shared with our students. Fr. Savage selected two of our students and demonstrated the fact that we are all made in God's image, despite our skin color or background. The two most important things that God wants us to do is to love one another and to love God by praying.
We also thank our 8th grade students who did a great job with the readings, as altar servers, gift bearers and as choir members.

Food For Thought
|
"Put aside your hatred and animosity. Take pains to refrain from sharp words. If they escape your lips, do not be ashamed to let your lips produce the remedy, since they have caused the wounds. Pardon one another so that later on you will not remember the injury.
