Parent Referral Program
If you know a friend, family member or anyone looking for a high-quality, Christ-centered education for their children who do not already attend a Catholic school, you could receive a $50 credit toward your child's tuition at York Catholic, with a chance to win a $500 credit.

York Catholic's Parent Referral Program is a win-win for everyone involved. Referred students receive an outstanding education from York Catholic, while parents of the referred families get peace of mind knowing their child is gaining so much more than just a top-notch education.  Families who refer someone who registers at York Catholic receive a $50 credit towards their child's tuition.

You, as parents, are our best ambassadors.   In order for the Parent Referral Program to be a success, we need information about individuals who may be interested in joining the York Catholic family. All you need to do is click here to fill out the form. During the registration process, if you are listed as the referring individual for a friend or other enrolling individual, we will credit your child 's account with $50.  In May, one family who referred someone who enrolled at YC will be randomly selected to win a $500 tuition credit.

It really is that simple. So go ahead. Please click on the link above and allow us the opportunity to do what we love - help to develop, nurture and encourage children so they may grow in faith, mind, and heart. Mail or email the form to us and we will take it from there!

Thank you for all you do for our school!
Spring Celebration
Don't Miss Out!   Kindly RSVP by April 13!

You are cordially invited to the 3rd Annual Spring Celebration presented by The Stewart Companies, a festive evening of cocktails, dining, silent and live auctions, student presentations, music, and camaraderie on Saturday, April 28, from 6-10 PM at the Country Club of York.

Please join us as we celebrate our YC pride and successes throughout the year.  All proceeds raised from this enchanting evening will benefit our York Catholic Fund, enabling us to invest in tuition assistance for those in need, a vibrant curriculum, technology upgrades, the arts and athletics, resources for our valued teachers, and the beautification and safety of our school.

Our planning committee is actively seeking donations for our live and silent auctions.  If you can contribute a gift certificate to a local restaurant or business, or tickets to a sporting/cultural event, local attraction or getaway, it will truly help our efforts and make a difference in the lives of our students.  All donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes and grateful acknowledgement at the Spring Celebration.   Click for auction item information  or  sponsorship opportunities .    Volunteer opportunities are also currently available.

Mission Collection
Our April mission collection will support the Holy Infant Hands Orphanage in the Dominican Republic through St. Mary's York.   The parish provides physical nourishment and care, and works toward improving the lives of the children. Thanks to the generosity of those who support their work already, a new roof was installed this year at the orphanage. We can make a difference with continued support to help meet the needs of the children . Please be generous.

Tomorrow, Friday, April 6, is Spirit Shirt Friday. Students may pay $1 in homeroom and wear their favorite YC spirit shirt in place of their uniform shirt. IOWA Exams for Grades 7-9
All seventh and eighth graders will be taking the IOWA standardized tests on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week, April 9, 10, and 11. Ninth graders will be taking the IOWA standardized tests on Monday and Tuesday next week, April 9 and 10 These tests assess student achievement in Reading, Written Expression, Vocabulary, Mathematics, Computation, Science, and Social Studies.   We ask that students are well rested and that they eat a substantial breakfast before coming to school. Not only do IOWA test results highlight how our students perform nationally, IOWA test scores are an invaluable resource when evaluating student placement, and they provide data that is utilized to identify areas of weakness throughout our curriculum. Student test results will be sent home with final report cards in June. Any questions regarding IOWA testing may be directed to Mrs. Kathy Hand in the Studies Office at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x213.
Retreat - Grade 11
The Junior class will be experiencing a unique retreat opportunity at Black Rock Retreat Center in Quarryville, PA on Thursday, April 12. The theme is "Unity in One Body - One Body in Christ." Students will have a chance to open their hearts to Christ and work as a team in challenging a low ropes course which will help them gain trust with each other and unify as a group as they get closer to being the senior leaders of our student body. While enriching their relationship with Christ, students will have the opportunity to develop increased confidence and self-esteem, increased mutual support within the group, problem-solving and goal setting skills, decision-making abilities, leadership, and trust in each other, and an appreciation and respect for differences in the group.
Online Sports Physicals for 2018-19
Students wishing to participate in athletics during the 2018-2019 school year must submit the following paperwork online:
  • PIAA Physical Form
  • Athlete & Parent Agreement
  • ImPACT Test
Students wishing to play any sport during the 2018-2019 school year MUST verify the paperwork is on file with Mr. Hayek no later than Wednesday, August 1, at 3 PM; no exceptions.

NEW!! PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT CHANGE

The York Catholic Athletic Department now hosts their Athletic Forms online with Arbiter Athlete, powered by PlanetHS, a software company committed to keeping student(s) safe. This digital platform will allow parents and athletes to complete and access most athletic forms (physicals, agreements, etc.) via computer, tablet, or mobile phone. It is HIPPA, COPPA, and FERPA compliant.

York Catholic will continue to host Sports Physicals at OSS Health on Thursday, June 7, from 6-7:30 PM. Instead of printing 9 pages of information to take to the doctor as was needed previously, you will instead complete the information online and only print 2 pages for the doctor to review and complete.

Before forms can be completed by parent and student, ArbiterAthlete accounts must be set-up by each athlete and his or her parent. Athletes will be given instructions on how to set-up an account in the coming weeks. Parents can click here for the instructions.   Forms will be valid for the entire 2018-2019 school year.

Failure to complete the online paperwork by the deadline will mean the student will not be permitted to practice the first day of the season. For some sports, this could mean the student will not make the team. Contact Mr. Hayek at  [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x244 if you have any questions and to be sure you have a valid ImPACT Test on file. If you need technical assistance with Arbiter Athlete/PlanetHS, please email [email protected] .

A brief instructional meeting regarding these changes will be held for parents and athletes Wednesday, May 16, at 7 PM in the YC auditorium.
Football Meeting

A meeting for parents of all students wishing to play senior high football in the fall will be held Saturday, April 14, from 10:30 AM-12 noon in the cafeteria. Questions can be sent to Head Coach Eric Depew at [email protected].
Music Association Meeting
Parents of music and choral students are welcome to attend the York Catholic Music Association meeting on Tuesday, April 10, at 6:30 PM. The meetings usually last approximately one hour and everyone's input and feedback are welcomed and appreciated. Your help in planning and implementing the efforts of the YCMA are critical.
