Upcoming events and other information

Backyard tree planting program

We're helping to make planting trees easier and more affordable! You can now sign up to receive a consultation from a certified arborist, a 5 to 8 foot tree delivered right to your door, planting service (including all the heavy digging and lifting) and tree care information, all for the low price of $150 - $220. The program is  delivered by Oakvillegreen and LEAF with support from the town.
Invasive insects
info session

Gypsy moth and cankerworm populations are expected to be extremely high this year.  Fortunately the town is prepared for the arrival of these invasive pests and we have  a mitigation plan to help control infestation in town woodlands. Join us on April 10 at 6 p.m. at QEPCCC to learn what the town is doing and what you can do to help stop these insects from harming your trees.
Funding approved for flood repairs

Council approved funding for a number of restoration projects related to the significant flooding Oakville experienced last year.  Repairs will be completed along the shoreline and in lakeside parks. Staff
will also replace and relocate the Bronte Harbour launch ramp, repair the supporting launch ramp seawall and make a number of infrastructure repairs required at Oakville and Bronte Harbours.
