"Getting to Know You... Getting to Know All About You..."

It's been nearly a month since my Call Weekend and the decision for us to be in ministry together for the foreseeable future.  I continue to be excited about you and all that I see going on in the church and everything that is upcoming.

So in addition to all the "firsts" - first Council meeting, first Worship Meeting, first Growth and Membership Meeting, what I want most of all is the chance to sit down and actually get to spend some time getting to know each of you.

After gathering a few opinions, no one method seemed to be preferred in order to help that happen.  So.... I will actually start making phone calls!  And at that time I will leave it to each household to determine if you want me to come by for a visit, go out for coffee, come with you to a kid's game or performance... You get the idea!  It's up to you and I'm up for pretty much anything!  Just make it something that will help me get to know YOU!

Talk to you soon!
Pastor Dale

TAKE NOTHING WITH YOU
2019 Lent Devotional booklet from the UCC Still Speaking Writers' Group
Jesus gave remarkable advice about what to take on a journey: "Take nothing with you." Does he mean that everything we think we need, but really don't, is burdening us?
What does an unencumbered journey look like? Can we dare to reflect on suffering without our baggage, or on scripture without our favorite frameworks? Do we dare look at our journeys anew for this season of Lent, without our suitcases? Let's find out together.

The booklets will be available where you will normally pick up your Sunday bulletin.

Message From Scott

February has been an amazing month. On the 3rd, the members of Trinity voted unanimously to call Rev. Dale Susan Edmonds as the third settled pastor of our church. She formally began her tenure on February 11. She jumped in immediately; her presence was felt at once. The energy and inspiration she brings to the pulpit and to Trinity is exciting. We are blessed to have her as our minister.   Welcome, Pastor Dale!

On a less exciting (but still important) note, the new Church Council had its first meeting on February 18. The first order of business was to elect officers. The 2019 Council and officers are as follows:
  • Roger Dart
  • Lucy Dorenfeld, Vice President
  • Jean Harris
  • Jen Holtz, Secretary
  • Todd Kerschke
  • Kim Parpala
  • Scott Peterson, President
Additionally, Karen Kerschke will continue as church Treasurer.

It's an exciting time to be part of the Council and a member of Trinity. I look forward to continuing our journey together in the months to come!

Scott Peterson

If you noticed that it is much cleaner in the Gathering Hall, the narthex and the sanctuary, please thank Susan Morgan, Penni Isaacson, Elaine Hughes, Marge Magnani and Jean Harris for all their hard work. Jen Holtz has also been hard at work cleaning out and painting the Pastor's office.

Great job everyone!

Did you know that many of our hymns come from the early American tradition of shape note singing?
