Sunday, November 18th, Noon, Sanctuary
Aledo UMC will hold an official Church Conference at noon Sunday, November 18, in the Sanctuary. The purpose of this Conference will be to cast a final vote on a proposed sale/purchase of property that has been approved by both the Board of Trustees and Church Council.
Under the proposal, the church will sell to Bryant Grain Co. the vacant property located across Oak Street from the Sanctuary and purchase a larger piece of vacant property located behind the Quad/Student Ministries complex. It is the belief of the Trustees and Church Council that the new property will give us more strategic options for expansion in the future.
Because this is a Church Conference, under the United Methodist Church's Book of Discipline, every professing member of the church has a vote. This does not include children, who are considered Prepatory Members, but does include students who have been Confirmed.

Sunday, November 18, 5:00pm, Arborlawn United Methodist Church
Representatives from Aledo UMC will attend the required annual Charge Conference at 5 p.m. Sunday, at Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. The purpose of this annual gathering is to submit and certify various reports and documents required each year by our Denomination. Anyone is welcome to attend, but only those elected leaders who are part of the Charge Conference vote.
Please do not confuse this meeting with the Church Conference that will be held at noon the same day in our Sanctuary. That is a specially called meeting of the entire church to consider the sale/purchase of property. Since that is a Church Conference, every professing member of Aledo UMC in attendance is allowed to cast a vote.

Are you taking advantage of electronic giving?
|
When we join the church, we pledge to support the life and ministry of the church with our financial gifts. That can get complicated on those weeks when we can't be here as the offering plate comes around. But through electronic giving, you remain faithful to your membership vows, even on those weeks when life takes you elsewhere. It's easy. It's safe. And it benefits both you and your church family. Setting it up is easy and only takes a few minutes. Contact Shari Birchell at sharibirchell@aledoumc.org to set up an automatic transfer from your checking account. Or go to aledoumc.org/give to use your credit or debit card.
