This issue of JLink is later than usual, but with good reason. For the past several months, Federation's volunteers and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for a brand new kind of Federation program that took place on October 4. HINENI: "Here I Am" - An Evening of Voices and Visions celebrated the tremendous collective impact that we can achieve when we come together in times of need. Five guest speakers shared their personal stories of how Federation and the Jewish community rallied together to promote healing and recovery after three major American crises. More than 500 of you heard firsthand accounts from survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting in Parkland, Florida, and Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas - and from responders who put their lives on hold to help in those communities and also here in Greater Hartford, as we resettled thousands of people displaced by Hurricane Maria.  These amazing stories inspired attendees to raise more than $1.2 million to kick off Federation's 2019 Annual Campaign. You can view a Facebook photo album from the evening here , or read the press release here .

We plan to share many more stories and programs like HINENI with you in the months to come. Thank you for saying "HINENI! Here I am!" to Jews and their neighbors in need everywhere.
