During the seventies, Claudia Lennear was a musical pioneer who sang background vocals across the genres on stage and on recordings with Ike andTinaTurner, AllenToussaint, the Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, Leon Russell, George Harrison, Elton John, Steven Stills,Taj Mahal, and many others.
L
ennear did a number of photography sessions with celebrity photographer Norman Seeff in 1972, when Claudia was at the height of her career and Norman was essentially just beginning his. Lennear is an inaugural member of the Treasury of Claremont Music project to be launched later this year.
Claudia will perform an acoustic set with guitarist Glenn Kishi in the Garner House courtyard at 7:00 pm.

Scripps Williamson Gallery will host an art lecture series
The Art Detectives: How to Cheat Time, Investigate Art, and Sustain Culture presented by Eric Doehne, Ph.D., a conservation scientist specializing in the intersection of art and science, heritage and legacy.
Each 2-hour lecture-scheduled on three Wednesday evenings: March 6, March 27 and April 10 at 7 p.m. in Steele Hall 101, 241 E. Eleventh St.-is free and open to the public with light refreshments following. The series is funded by the Spencer Endowment with support from FAF. A field trip that complements the lecture will be offered on the Saturday following each lecture.
March 6 - Art Forensics or How to Tell Real Art from Fakes: Explore the use of forensic science to authenticate works of art. See how science, history, law and ethics intersect in increasingly complex and interesting ways around plunder, fakes and forensics
March 27 - Artist Materials from Ancient to Modern Times: Discover artists' materials that are vulnerable. Find out how modern art can be preserved. Examine artists' materials, including the invention of ancient pigments. Hear why some of Van Gogh's paintings have changed color.
April 10 - Art Detective Object Lessons: Five stories reveal how scientists help us to understand and sustain our art and culture. (Example: lessons learned from the Iceman not only revealed secrets of the Bronze Age but also about the preservation of fragile materials.)
