Creative Capitals

The sixteenth annual Music@Menlo festival explored the evolution of chamber music through the lens of the cultural epicenters of London, Paris, St. Petersburg, Leipzig, Berlin, Budapest, and Vienna. Tippet Rise Performance Video 

David and Wu Han made their Tippet Rise Art Center debut as a duo in late August 
and were joined by pianist Orion Weiss the following day for a performance that was livestreamed by medici.tv. You can watch the full performance for free on medici tv until November 25; click below!
  Wu Han Named Artistic Advisor 
of Chamber Music at the Barns
 
The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts has named Wu Han Artistic Advisor for the Chamber Music at the Barns, the first artist to hold the role for two consecutive seasons series beginning this fall. The series opens with a Wolf Trap recital debut by Wu Han and David on November 4 and includes engaging programs offered by a hand-picked cadre of world-class artists.  ArtistLed 20th Anniversary CD
  
David and Wu Han are thrilled to announce their newest ArtistLed album will be released on November 1st in celebration of the recording label's twentieth anniversary. Featuring sonatas by Bach, Mendelssohn, Debussy, and Britten, the disc captures David and Wu Han's artistry and mastery across a wide range of musical styles. 
 
   

  
Broadcast Alert

Wu Han was recently featured on the Emmy®  award-winning weekly  arts and  culture magazine show Articulate with Jim Cotter  which is broadcast on over 115  public television markets from coast to coast. Watch the feature on PBS  via  the link below and keep an eye out for David's  Articulate segment, to be  broadcast in December.

In a bold reimagining of its Winter Series under David and Wu Han's leadership, Music@Menlo inaugurates its new off-season initiative this year, the Music@Menlo: Focus residencies. This November, Guest Curator and pianist Hyeyeon Park directs an immersive residency titled Shakespeare and Goethe that explores the connections between literature and music. The inaugural Focus residency takes place at Music@Menlo and offers educational events as well as a concert program featuring David alongside other world-renowned musicians.
 
  

David, Wu Han, and CMS announced their 2018-19 season just as they've completed one of the organization's most ambitious, successful, and critically acclaimed seasons to date. Featuring performances in New York at Alice Tully Hall, both national and international tours, and CMS's multiple residency projects, this upcoming season continues to present the world's great artists in the globe's finest venues, performing concert programs crafted with the highest levels of imagination and artistic integrity. David and Wu Han will perform in numerous Alice Tully Hall concerts as well as several national and international CMS tours.

Among many notable highlights of the 2018-19 season is the commencement of CMS's multiyear partnership with  the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogota, Colombia, featuring David and Wu Han alongside fellow CMS artists in a pair of very special performances this November. Residency partnerships continue with Drew University in Madison, NJ, the Harris Theater in Chicago, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in Purchase, NY, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY, Shaker Village in Pleasant Hill, KY, the St. Cecilia Music Center in Grand Rapids, MI, the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, and the Chrysalis Chamber Music Institute at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC.
 
National Concert Hall, Taiwan
 

Joined by fellow CMS artists, David and Wu Han lead a tour to Asia with concerts at the  National Concert Hall and the  Hsinchu Performing Arts Center in Taiwan, and the  Shanghai Concert Hall in China. The tour begins in Seoul, South Korea at the eighth annual  Chamber Music Today  festival. Directed by David and Wu Han, it is at the forefront of expanding chamber music in the Far East
