WAINWRIGHT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES VIA MERX.COM AND BUYANDSELL.GC.CA
In order to assist local business in gaining information on business opportunities at Wainwright Garrison and other local areas, the Wainwright Economic Development Office will periodically send out business opportunities featured on merx.com and buyandsell.gc.ca that pertain particularly to Wainwright and area. These are systems used by the Government for procurement of goods and services over $25,000.00.
HEALTH SKILLS DAY
Wainwright Health Skills Day for high school students is occurring on Friday, April 20 th . This day will highlight the various healthcare fields and employment opportunities available in Wainwright. 

Students will have the opportunity to learn hands-on skills at the Stations which includes:
 
·          Suturing
·          IVs & Injections
·          Tour of Hospital & Health Care Professions
·          Catheter & Catheter Care
·          Mechanical Lifts
·          Hand Hygiene/PPE Donning & Doffing

Grades 10 - 12 students must register at their School Office by April 13th to participate.
HEALTH CARE AIDE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
We are excited to announce that Lakeland College is partnering with Wainwright Economic Development and Adult Learning to bring their  Health Care Aide Certificate  program to Wainwright in September 2018 through April 2019.

This program runs over 9 weekends with 2 practicum portions. Please view the  HCA 2018-19 Information Package . Minimum is 15 students with a maximum of 20.

  1. Get reimbursed two-thirds of the cost of training existing employees, up to $10,000 per trainee.
  2. Full training reimbursement for unemployed trainees, up to $15,000 per trainee.
  3. Sole proprietors can now apply to train their employees.
  4. Travel Assistance may be available.
