Next week we look forward to our Christmas Pageant.  The students and teachers have been working very hard in preparation and all are looking forward to their special night.

As you know, this beautiful event portrays the story of the birth of Jesus Christ through song and scripture. It is a touching presentation and I hope everyone is able to attend. During this busy season, I would encourage you to take this opportunity to let go of the craziness of the season and allow the purity of our children to touch your hearts.

With that thought in mind, please try to be respectful of the people around you as you are using your recording devices (or better yet, try going without??). We want it to be an enjoyable evening for all!

Peace and God's blessings,

Ms. Ann E. Dougal

Morning Meeting - 4B Style!

Breakfast chat.....Power Meeting.....A.M. Assembly.....Morning Huddle..... whatever you may call it, Grade 4B has a Morning Meeting each day!

We begin our meeting with our Morning Offering prayer, followed by personal prayer intentions offered by the students. Next, we greet each other by name, sometimes using a high five or handshake, other times we toss a ball to a classmate. News is next on the agenda. Each day two students share an experience or event in their lives - past, present, or up-coming. This is followed by the sharer asking for three questions or comments.

What a great way to develop interpersonal skills! It is always heart-warming to see the students' confidence grow through the year, as we learn about the many connections we have with one another. Following this, I generally have a few things to share as well - something to plan for, or an adjustment to the schedule are the top two. After our Morning Meeting, we are ready to begin the day. Ready team? On your mark, get set, go!!

Morning Offering
Father in heaven, I give you today,
All that I think, and do, and say.
I give you the good times, as well as the bad,
The times when I'm happy, the times when I'm sad.
Fill me with grace, and help me be strong,
With you at my side, I won't go wrong. Amen

  School Mass

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception

30 Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found   favor with God.   31  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and  shall call His name  Jesus .   32  He will be great,  and will be called the Son of the Highest; and  the Lord God will give Him the  throne of His  father David.           Luke 1:30-32

Today is the eve of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day of obligation.  We thank Fr. Paulo Bagattini who was visiting Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church from Verona, Italy. Our scheduled celebrant was sick and Fr. Paulo volunteered with a 10 minute notice! We appreciate your kindess Father and for celebrating Mass with us.

We also thank our grade 3 students for doing a fantastic job at hosting Mass.  All of the 3rd grade students participated whether it was as readers, altar servers or members of the choir.
