East Coast Ramblers launch Walk on April 22; Mohegan Sun will be major sponsor
Join us at April 22 at noon on Golden Street in New London as the East Coast Ramblers energize the crowd for the 11th Annual Walk to End Homelessness .

The Walk starts at 1 with a sendoff by Kevin Brown, chairman of the Mohegan Tribe; Katherine Bergeron, president of Connecticut College; and Michael Passero, mayor of New London.

Mohegan Sun is the lead sponsor of the Walk. It is organized by the Homeless Hospitality Center with help from Connecticut College students. All proceeds benefit HHC.

Register today -- show your support for those experiencing homelessness, and help build a stronger community. Last year the Walk raised $26,000 and more than 500 people participated.

Walkers stop at community landmarks, take in a variety of performances

You'll get a ticket for your voyage, have it punched at half a dozen spots along the way, and experience a variety of performances. More info. You will:

* Stop at St. Francis House (pictured here), which helped found HHC in 2006 after two local men died outdoors.

* Walk through the Williams Memorial Park Historic District.

* Visit our Vet House.

* Go by the former St. Mary's School, which is being converted to affordable housing.

Performers along the route include: the Raging Grannies, spoken word artist Marco Anthony Fabretti, Vox Cameli, the percussion duo Mixed Blessings, and DJ J ames O'Grady, who will be spinning tunes when the Walk ends at the Whale Tail.
