July 2020 - Updates from the Forever Parks Foundation
Hello Friends of the Forever Parks Foundation,

We hope this email continues to find all of our friends and families safe and healthy as we are definitely in the dog days of summer. As you may know, July is National Parks and Recreation Month so while our normal activities may be put on pause right now, we can definitely all agree that Nature is Not Cancelled!

July is National Parks and Recreation Month!
All month long we will be celebrating all of the great opportunities offered by our local Parks and Recreation department. Throughout the month, we will be profiling our local staff, programs and great supporters as to why they are passionate about our Parks and Recreation Department. In addition, special contests such as the Pearland Parks photo contest will allow everyone to share and potentially win prizes! Please follow the Parks and Recreation Facebook page to continue to learn and share more!

In addition, we would love if you are able to display your Pearland Parks pride by ordering one of our Nature is Not Cancelled t-shirts! As we work towards continuing to enhance your outdoor experiences via projects such as the Educational Pond and All Inclusive Playground, we appreciate any support and the proceeds from the t-shirts will all go directly towards these efforts. The t-shirts are fun, available in several colors and come in both adult and youth sizes. Please support by visiting our t-shirt link to place your order.

Parks and Rec Update
Covid-19 may have halted in-person camp and programming opportunities, but the Parks and Recreation team has continued to deliver engaging online programs through their social media channels. Camp at Home features activities that are fun for the whole family and include weekly challenges related to the originally scheduled Camp Kia's weekly themes. The Camp at Home posts will run through August 14th and follow us on Facebook to see Camp Videos, Crafting and Cooking with Araceli, and Fitness Fridays!

Continue to stay safe and stay well and we hope to see you on the trails soon!
Kelly Moody, FPF Board President
