Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Welcomes Former Supreme Court Justice to the Charleston Office   
Former Justice, Brent D. Benjamin

As Of Counsel at Bailey & Wyant, PLLC, former-Justice Benjamin's work will emphasize appellate practice & consulting, general and commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. He will continue to prepare and educate attorneys and parties throughout the state with moot court opportunities for oral arguments. He will also assist locally and nationally in law school competitions and will present on a variety of judicial and legal presentation topics.

David J. Mincer
Members Assist in 1L Interviewing Skills Panel at West Virginia University College of Law

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Members, Suleiman Oko-ogua and David Mincer assisted in the 1L Speed Interviewing Skills Panel event at the WVU College of Law.
 
The event was geared towards first year law students as they prepare to interview for summer internships. During the event, students listened to practitioners on the panel give
 advice on the best approaches to successful interviews. This

 included discussion on the proper etiquette for resume
 and cover letter preparation and how to conduct themselves during job interviews to make a good impression.
 
Students were able to participate in mock interviews with practitioners, in a speed interviewing set-up. During this process, the students received feedback from the 13 practitioners who gave great tips.
 
The event was organized by the Defense Trial Counsel of WV and was well-attended by the students at WVU College of Law.

Member Presents on 
Medical Marijuana  in the Workplace


Member Michael W. Taylor presented to a full classroom of county officials  at the West Virginia Association of Counties Conference of Counties this month  on the high stakes of Medical Marijuana in the workplace. 

Within his presentation he discussed the Federal Law, Controlled Substances Act and West Virginia Law surrounding medical marijuana. The presentation was full of detailed information surrounding medicinal marijuana, the effects it will have within the workplace and current bill progression through the legislature.

Wheeling Equity Member Gives Back

Morgan S. McKee
Morgan S. McKee is an attorney in the firm's Wheeling, West Virginia office. 

A practicing attorney since 2015, Morgan has experience in all aspects of litigation from pre-suit notice of claims and discovery through trial and appeals in both state and federal courts. 

She has produced favorable results for many of the firm's clients by way of successful Motions for Summary Judgment and Motions to Dismiss in both State and Federal Court.

Morgan currently lives with her husband and young son in Wheeling. She is a member of the Wheeling Junior League. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and walking the trails at Oglebay.

Manna Meal Empty Bowls 
   
The Bailey & Wyant, PLLC team had a great time lending a hand at Capital City Empty Bowls 2019 event in Charleston this month. 

Manna Meal is a wonderful organization that has been serving two meals a day, 365 days a year for 40 years at St. John's Episcopal Church.
