SOCIAL MEDIA WARNING FOR PARENTS
Recently, social media platforms (YouTube Kids, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp) have experienced a hack that has been dubbed the "MOMO Challenge". This hack encourages viewers to participate in dangerous acts, up to and including self-harm and suicide. Viewers will be looking at what seems to be harmless content and then the hacked image appears, giving the viewer their challenge. Accompanied with this photo is an image of a creepy, doll-like person that may also threaten the child. Please monitor your children while using the internet. There are app and device settings that allow you to blacklist content or add content that you know is safe to view. Remind your child that this image is not real and of the importance of telling their safe adult when they see something that makes them uncomfortable. Please report and block any images/video that contains MOMO content as well. We are monitoring our internet usage at school to ensure the safety of all of our students.  Click here to learn more.

STILL TIME TO ORDER SMCC GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP SHIRTS
If you would like to order an SMCC Girls Basketball SBC Championship shirt, please visit www.pelzshirtshack.com and click the online store to order.  Deadline to order is tomorrow, March 1 at 5:00pm.

The SMCC Sadie Hawkins Dance originally scheduled for this Saturday has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 9 from 7:00pm-10:00pm.  Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

LADY PANTHER GRADES 3-8 VOLLEYBALL CLINICS

Peter and Paul gym. Grades 3-5 will meet from 8:30am-10:00am and grades 6-8 will meet from 10:30am-12:00pm. Participants will learn the basics on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. The cost for the clinic is $30 for the 5-week program, and includes a t-shirt and certificate. Please click here for a registration form.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED
Have you ever considered becoming a substitute teacher? Did you know you only need a Bachelor's Degree in order to obtain your license? If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher at SCCS, please email Lois Walsh at [email protected] for more information.

GRADES 4-8 GIRLS SOFTBALL CLINIC
On Saturday, March 2 and March 9, there will be a softball clinic for girls in grades 4-8 in the Multi-Purpose Room from 1:00pm-3:00pm.  Please contact Jessica Grimm at [email protected] with any questions.

TRI-PARISH MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION
On Tuesday, March 5, there will be a Tri-Parish Mardi Gras Celebration in the Sts. Peter and Paul Gathering Space from 6:30pm-7:45pm.  Great food, including Gumbo, mini po boys, salad, and decadent desserts, will be served.  There will be lively music and singing, great fun for the whole family! Create a colorful mask & accessories of your own (a great family activity) or choose from a limited selection that will be on hand.  There will also be a King Cake, and the one who finds the baby hidden within their cake will be crowned King or Queen of the Celebration!  During the last 15 minutes of our festivities, we will move into church for a reflective service with Deacon Phil Dinovo to begin our Lenten Season together in prayer. There is no fee, but registration is required for accurate headcount for the meal. All are welcome! Please call the Pastoral Office, 419-625-7500 or e-mail [email protected] to reserve your seats. Doors open at 6:00pm.

RE-ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN
A letter was mailed home to all current SCCS families last week with students entering grades 1-12 explaining the re-enrollment process for the 2019-2020 school year. Families may call to set up an appointment, or choose the online re-enrollment option through Final Forms. Once enrollment is complete, the tuition contract will be sent home for you to review, sign, and return with the $200 family enrollment fee. The $200 family enrollment fee is due by Friday, April 27, 2019 to be applied toward next year's tuition balance. After April 27, the fee will no longer be applied to tuition. You may pay the fee online; however, FinalForms charges a 4% fee, so you may still pay SCCS directly via cash or check if you wish. Please contact Mrs. Chrissy Snow at 419-626-1892, ext. 311 or  [email protected]  with questions or to set up an appointment.

EDCHOICE SCHOLARSHIP RENEWALS
Any family who is currently receiving the EdChoice Scholarship should have received the renewal paperwork in the mail.  If you have not received your renewal forms, or have questions about applying for the income-based scholarship, please contact Mrs. Snow at [email protected] or 419-626-1892, ext. 311.  Please submit renewal forms by April 18, 2019

NOSF GRADES K-8 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund is an income-based scholarship for current students entering grades K-8 for the 2019-2020 school year. The scholarships are 100% need-based, because NOSF believes that income should not be a barrier to a quality education. Each scholarship is based on individual family size and income, with a maximum scholarship of $1,500 per child. Please fill out the 2019-2020 pre-application here. This short application enters you in a lottery to receive the scholarship. The deadline to fill out the pre-application is Friday, April 26, 2019. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Chrissy Snow at 419-626-1892 or [email protected].
