UBCM Submission to Ferries Review

Earlier today, UBCM met with Mr. Blair Redlin, Special Advisor to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, who is conducting a comprehensive operating review of coastal ferry services in BC. UBCM's submission is reflective of the policy positions adopted by the membership through its resolutions process and 2014 socio-economic impact analysis of BC Ferries. Read More 
Gas Tax Fund Outcomes Report

UBCM has released an Outcomes Report on the Federal Gas Tax Fund. The report measures the environmental, social and economic benefits of the program between 2014 and 2016, including the impact of incremental spending and progress made towards improving local government asset management. Read More

Protections for Manufactured Home Owners 

Premier Horgan has announced proposed changes to the Manufactured Home Park Tenancy Act to provide additional protections and compensation for owners displaced by the redevelopment of manufactured home parks.

In Memorium: Jim Nelson, Village of Warfield  

Former Warfield mayor and councillor Jim Nelson has passed away. He served in local government for more than 25 years and was a champion of the Volunteer Firefighters where he was an active member for many years. Jim will be missed by family, friends and his colleagues in local government. There will be a celebration of life for Jim on May 5, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Warfield Community Hall. 
Infrastructure Costing Pilot Project
