Quality Measure Performance Update
The 2019 quality goals have been constructed such that each provider has a target for each of the 11 measures based on their performance during the benchmark period. Click on the Learn More button below for more detail.

Patient Safety Story
"Ms. Jones" planned a trip to Tanzania over the holidays. She made an appointment with her Primary Care Provider to prepare for her upcoming overseas travel. Travelers to Africa are required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B. Ms. Jones is particularly afraid of needles, and after careful discussion with her Provider, she elected to receive Twinrix vaccination. The Medical Assistant retrieved the vaccination and gave Ms. Jones her injection, without verifying the medication with a licensed person.

Regulatory Update
This section of Quality Corner will contain any reminders about quality issues from a regulatory level. Please pay close attention to all items noted here as you are required to know and act upon any regulatory quality issues.

Medication Recall through FDA: The UHA Quality Department recommends that Clinic Managers take an active role in medication recalls. Help keep your patients safe by signing-up for important email alerts regarding medication recalls through the Food and Drug Administration.

2018 was the second year of MIPS, a Medicare program that measures physician organizations on quality, promoting interoperability, improvement activities, and cost. UHA again achieve "exceptional performance" with an overall score of 97.4/100.
