Preaching:
Rev. Judy Zabel
Do You Hear What I Hear? Hear!
Reflection:
The writer of Malachi (which is Hebrew for
the messenger
tells us that God is the one who purifies our relationship for the sake of transformation. "The Messenger who will clear the path is like the refiner's fire or the cleaner's soap." Are there any relationships or aspects of your life that need some cleaning up? God doesn't wait for us to clean up ourselves before God reaches out to love us. God loves us first and offers to clean us up so we can be transformed to live a joyful and fruitful life.
Come and hear a word of hope and grace and then remain for the Sanctuary Choir concert to celebrate the goodness of God!
For the Children and the Adults in Their Lives:
Mary and Joseph are heading on their journey to Bethlehem. Next step, have to look at the map. It's going to be a long, winding road and if they know where they're going it's going to go well. When you go on a trip, how aware are you of the route? Who in your family knows the route best? Sometimes, we take the long way, what's called "the scenic route." Do you prefer going the shortest way or the scenic route when you travel?
