Tom McAvoy, a Research Entomologist at VT, will talk about hemlock species and distribution, hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) distribution and introduction in US, control methods, and different types of chemical and biological controls. Followed by a brief tour of the Insectary of the Washington St. Greenhouse with Carrie Jubb, the Insect Mass Rearing Supervisor.
