Mundi's Move

Immediately following EAI's public announcement that Mundi would be moved to Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA) mid-March, EAI received an email from Puerto Rico's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) cancelling the contract for the move. The email cited no violations of the contract, but stated that DNR is considering other facilities for Mundi. READ MORE.

Mundi's transport crate is custom designed for her safety.

As of now, EAI is proceeding with the terms of the contract for Mundi's move. EAI had the transport crate in which she will travel - generously loaned by Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) - shipped from storage in Arizona to Florida, where it has been customized to meet airline specifications and is awaiting shipment to Puerto Rico.

ERNA Hosts Florida and Georgia Pre-Vet Clubs

On February 16, 28 Pre-Vet Club students from Valdosta State University and Florida State University visited ERNA to learn about elephant foot care and the unique geographical features that make ERNA an ideal habitat for elephants. They also helped out with a number of projects. Our thanks go out to all the students for their hard work and dedication to animals!
