Thoughts with Mr.Watts
St. Catharine Families:

I know we are all anxiously awaiting the start of the school year and it may look different compared to the beginning of last year. Regardless of how we start, I am very fortunate to start the year with all of you.

What this pandemic has taught us, is everyone is affected by it. There are really no families that have communicated this school year is a perfect situation for them. Everyone is making sacrifices and we all are carrying our cross in some way. I will continue to ask that we show empathy to others and have patience with everyone. None of us have gong through a first day of school quite like this.

Final Preparations
I have never been more proud of a group of teachers and staff this past week. They are a resilient group of professionals that have been working extremely hard to make sure your children are safe and have the best opportunity to learn. As we are finishing up classroom set-ups, cleaning, and sanitizing, our staff is working around the clock to ensure we are ready for Monday morning.

Visitor Policy
Starting today, there will be no more visitors, including parents, allowed in the school building. Once our final cleaning and sanitation efforts are finished and once students are present in the building, there will be new protocols as explained in our reopening plan.

If you need to pick up your child from school early, you will need to call ahead, ring the bell, and wait outside the front doors. Please call ahead to the school office to notify us in advance of the appointment.

Any parent-teacher meetings will be conducted via phone, Zoom, or if necessary, in the conference room by accessing it through the Parish Center doors.

Weekend Communication
Digital Academy On-boarding
You will be receiving an email with your Digital Academy Log-in information and to verify your contact information.

Family Number Assignments for Dismissal
Each family will be receiving an assigned number for pick-up purposed. This number will also be on two laminated cards to keep your vehicles. Even if your family typically walks to school, you will still receive a number. It is important these numbers should not be shared with anyone outside our school community. This will drastically reduce any delays in our dismissal process while keeping our students safe.

Arrival/ Dismissal Video
We will guide families through the arrival and dismissal process.

Reopening Plan
The Final Reopening plan will be updated on the website.

Final Walk-Through
I will be doing a final virtual walk-through video on Sunday.

Parent Fingerprinting
This year we will unfortunately not be able to offer a fingerprinting night. Fingerprinting can be arranged by contacting Kathy Kropp at 614.235.1396 or kkropp@cdeducation.org Fingerprinting fees are covered by St Catharine Home & School Association

To keep all of our activities safe for the youngest of our parishioners and students, all volunteers are asked to complete the Protecting God’s Children Training Program. To become compliant, all volunteers must complete the following steps:
  1. Attend a Protecting God’s Children Training Program, a course that details the importance of keeping our children safe through awareness and vigilance.
  2. Provide a current Bureau of Criminal Investigation criminal background report. Fingerprinting can be arranged by calling the St. Catharine School office. Fingerprinting fees are covered by the St. Catharine Home & School Association.
