Pastoral Candidate

December 2, 2018, at 9:30 you will have an opportunity  to  meet  with  David and his family at a breakfast in Taylor Hall.  David will share some of his faith journey with us and deliver the sermon at our worship service.  Please make a special effort to come hear him. There will be an official congregational meeting immediately following our worship service to vote on extending a call to David Harrison.  We hope you will join us in our excitement about calling David to be our new minister.

Congregational meeting December 9, immediately following the worship service. Please plan to attend this meeting at which we will vote on the revisions to our constitution and bylaws and the budget and slate of officers for 2019.  Please bring your copy of the proposals with you.

David Michael Smith's Baby Dedication December 2, 11 a.m.

In this season of giving let us remember our staff.   Please contribute to a love offering  to show our appreciation for their hard work on our behalf throughout this year. You may deliver your check, with "staff love offering" in the memo line, to the church office or place it in the offering plate by December 16.

New Communion

New Communion appreciates your generosity. Ways to give this holiday season besides just the normal peanut butter and jelly---donate $32.00 for meal boxes that feed 10 people using the envelope found inside the bulletin, Target gift cards, or items from our Amazon wish list (links to this list may be found in the Friday e-newsletter or on our Facebook Page).  You can also donate using PayPal ( http://www.newcommunion.org/donate/).  Your donations of peanut butter and jelly can be left in the New Communion Box in the office wing entrance.

Youth Happenings!

We are planning for Cocoa and Carols on Dec. 16th at 5 pm. Our youth have been blessed with gifts of creativity and humor, and we hope to share those with you at this event.

If you are interested in providing dinner for the youth, please email me at  mundkm12@wfu.edu  or call (828) 713-2570.

Peace,
Kaitlin Mundy

Crisis Control Ministry

The Holidays are fast approaching.  One of the best things about this busy time of year is that our kitchens are filled with the good aromas coming from those cookies, cakes and other desserts we bake.  Crisis Control Ministry realizes this too. For the month of December, they are requesting BAKING SUPPLIES so their clients can also enjoy those same things. Fill your grocery cart with sugar, flour, cake mixes or anything else you might like to give and bring it to the church.  Place them in the white container in the Education
Foyer and we will deliver them. Your stockings will be filled with multiple blessings!

The shelter has a year-round list of needs that are always appreciated. They especially have shortages of men's deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and socks.  Food items are canned meats and #10 size canned fruits, vegetables and applesauce. Please place your items next to the white bin in the foyer outside the office or in the church office.
