Dear Friends,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 1:7b) It is good to be with you for this sojourn. I feel very blessed to be among you, especially as we enter this Easter Season. The 50 days of Eastertide will focus on the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ and will end at Pentecost in mid-May. As the disciples contemplated what it meant for them to be a community of believers in the post-resurrection time, we will also contemplate what it means to be church together at this time and in this place. As Pastor Ian is away for a time of reflection and journey, we too will be on our own journey. I do hope you will be walking all the way with us.
This Sunday, April 8th will be my first Sunday with you as Sabbatical Pastor. I'm eager to get to know you and for you to know me so we will have a special fellowship gathering after worship this Sunday. There will be hearty "eats" to satisfy your mid-day cravings and good conversation around the table. Please plan to join us. I do hope that if you have children, you will encourage them to participate because we are not complete without them.
If you haven't already filled out the Completing the Circle scheduling sheet or gone online to sign up at this LINK, please be sure to do that soon. Telling your story of what you are experiencing at First Church will keep this a vibrant and relevant community. I hope to attend many of them myself. I have a feeling they are going to be very enjoyable and informative!
