Celebration of Community November 14

The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation will host the Celebration of Community on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids. This event recognizes how philanthropy and the work of nonprofit organizations are making a positive impact on our communities.
A short program will be held from 4-4:30 p.m. (Please arrive before 4 to find a seat). The program will feature seven nonprofit stories of impact. We will also recognize the accomplishments of two nonprofit professionals with the presentation of the 2018 nonprofit awards. The Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Award will recognize Brian Stutzman, YPN, posthumously. Erin Kurt, Junior Achievement, will receive the Minnie Rubek Staff Excellence Award. Visit

Americorps NCCC Seeks Request for Proposals
Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) partners with nonprofits and other agencies to complete projects typically lasting 6-8 weeks which address a compelling community need that would not be fully addressed without additional assistance. Iowa is included in the North Central Region, and has announced the schedule for concept form (first step) and application due dates. The first due date is November 5, 2018. Click
