This program offers food, fun and friendly conversation to help you maintain your health and independence. Once a month, older adults will gather together to learn from each other, sample new recipes, discuss current nutrition and health topics, and discover new ways to be active.

Jack Williams Awards for First Responders Banquet
and Awards Ceremony
The American Legion Allen-McKinney Post 44 of Harrison, AR proudly presents the 2 nd  Annual Jack Williams Award for First Responders Banquet and Awards Ceremony. One recipient will be honored from the Harrison Fire Department; the Harrison Police Department; the Boone County Sheriff's Department; the Arkansas State Police, Troop I; NARMC Emergency Medial Services and one Volunteer Fire Fighter from Boone County. We are proud that this year's keynote speaker will be the Arkansas Attorney-General Leslie Rutledge.

The award is named after WWII Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Jack Williams. Jack Williams was born and lived in Harrison, AR and Boone County. He was a Navy Corpsman and his duties were much like First Responders in civilian life. He saved lives.

Come join us as we honor our Community's First Responders.

Crawdad Days Festival
The Crawdad Days Festival held each year in Harrison, Arkansas, has grown into one of the "must attend" festivals in Arkansas. Attended by thousands each year, the Crawdad Days Festival in Harrison, Arkansas is held each year the third weekend of May around the banks of Lake Harrison and the downtown historic square.

Fire in the Sky
The Explore Harrison office presents the 7th Annual FIRE IN THE SKY on Thursday, July 4, 2019 . This spectacular event will begin Thursday evening with all sorts of fun and activities for the whole family to enjoy and will lead into the fireworks celebration at dusk (approximately 9:30pm). Join us as we light up Harrison with the 2019 Fire in the Sky at the Anstaff Bank Soccer Complex located at 202 Old Stonewall Road. Ample parking will be available at the Harrison Junior High, Burlsworth Youth Center, and Lake Harrison Park. (Entry will not be permitted through Old Stonewall Road for the safety of everyone involved and in attendance.)

Bluegrass Festival - In August
Musicians have been jammin' in Harrison for over 40 years at the Northwest Arkansas Bluegrass Festival. This yearly 3-day event is held at Beacon Park, located five miles North of Harrison, Arkansas on U.S. Hwy 65 at 6238 Sand Flat Rd.
Bring your lawn chairs and your acoustic instruments and enjoy the fun. Gospel and bluegrass music will be playing all weekend. Some music is played around the park by impromptu groups. Those jams begin at 7 a.m. and last all day and evening. Staged performances also take place. Check out our calendar of events for list of performers.

Harvest Homecoming
Harvest Homecoming is being held on October 4 - 6, 2019 on the Historic Harrison Square and Surrounding Downtown Areas.  If you want a booth space you can pick up a vendor form at Back Street Trader at 204 W. Stephenson

Ride the Ozarks Rally

Thousands of motorcycle riders visit the Harrison area each year to explore the many curves, twists and sweepers in the Ozark Mountains. In fact, the Arkansas Ozarks and Harrison are quickly becoming one of the most popular locations for motorcycle riding in the United States.

The Ride the Ozarks Rally gives you another reason to visit the Ozarks. We know you love to ride these roads and now we thought we would go ahead and give you some added value for your next trip to the Ozarks. The rally features great music, vendors, a bike show and of course some great guided trips in the Ozarks. There is no entry fee and everyone is invited!
