SCHOOL NEWS
PAPERLESS REPORT CARDS BECOME AUTOMATIC NEXT TERM

The International School is continuing to implement a paperless report card as part of the effort to become eco-friendlier. Currently, families can opt into receiving a paperless report card. Starting with Third Quarter report cards in April, all parent/guardian ParentVUE accounts will be set to receive paper report cards automatically. All of your student's report cards will continue to be available in .pdf format and can be downloaded and/or printed from your web-enabled devices via the ParentVue portal.

If you wish to receive a printed report card, you will need to change your paperless setting in the My Account tab in ParentVUE. By unchecking the "Go Paperless" box, your family can opt back into receiving a paper report card.

If you prefer to continue to receive all quarterly report cards in paper format and do not have access to your ParentVUE account, please complete this form and return it to the school registrar, Katherine Parkin.

STUDENT SPORTS & OPPORTUNITIES
BELMUN BELLEVUE-BASED MODEL UN CONFERENCE

BELMUN is a Bellevue-based Model UN conference that was founded by students from the greater Seattle area last year as a way for middle and high school students to practice their debate skills and engage in pertinent world issues. Students, acting delegates in diplomatic committees of the United Nations, and related bodies are assigned country positions which they research and represent in debate at the conference. Based on the debate, delegates form resolutions to solve the problem at hand. Example topics that are discussed include labor exploitation, the trafficking of falsified drugs, international trade tensions, and gender equality. Through participation, delegates not only become more globally aware, but also build lifelong career skills such as critical thinking, writing, argumentation, and diplomatic negotiation.

BELMUN 2019 will take place on March 23 at Chinook Middle School. Students can find more information about the conference and register at  www.bellevuemun.org .
