March Recommendation

Let's Talk About Love
Clare Kann

"Let's Talk About Love" follows Alice, whose summer takes an unexpected turn when her girlfriend ended things after Alice came out as asexual. Alice swears she is done with dating, until she meets Takumi. Should she risk their friendship by telling him how she feels? Her summer becomes a rom com-grade romance.

The book discusses the complexity of Alice's character as a black, asexual, and bi-romantic protagonist and how she navigates her relationship with others and with herself.

Art Call: Strength in Softness
Deadline: March 10

Art pieces are soft. Most of the time they are just light beams that hit the retina. They are hanged in the museum, in the gallery, and, undoubtedly, also in our center; they are left in the warehouse; they are abandoned in garbage fill. The context changes, but the passive nature of art doesn't change.  How can something so soft, so subtle, and so delicate make any statement? How can art showcase any strength?

The theme of this exhibition is "Strength in Softness". Submission is through email [email protected], The deadline for submission is March 10. All mediums are welcome. Chosen submissions will be displayed in the center during the Spring Quarter. Award ranges from $10-$30 will also be given.

Please contact [email protected] for more information.
