Reflecting on the year that is ending seems unreal, its year end! Everyone of us can relate to year end deadlines, I think it's the rush and excitement of getting it all done and on time that keeps us going. I know that is how I myself feel. And ADOMA allows me to be surrounded with like minded people. Controllers, business managers, office managers and HR managers are all very special people who get things done. So, let me just say you all ROCK!  I am so proud to be a part of this elite group.

In the coming year, ADOMA is working hard on getting speakers to help us with the in and out and day to day challenges we all face. We want to give all members of ADOMA as much help and education as possible.  So, let us know what you want help with and/or who you would like to hear speak in 2019! Here are a few ideas:

California law may be turning against enforceability of employee non-solicitation clauses 
Post-employment non-compete agreements (including bans on customer solicitation) are generally void in California under Section 16600 of the California Business and Professions Code (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 16600 to 16607 and Edwards v. Arthur Andersen, LLP, 44 Cal. 4th 937 (2008)). In Edwards, the California Supreme Court ruled that customer non-solicitation provisions, no matter how "reasonably" or narrowly-tailored, are unlawful. The only exceptions are non-compete agreements that fall within

As we previously reported, back in 2016, OSHA issued a rule that amended its regulations (29 C.F.R. § 1904.35(b)(1)(iv)) to prohibit employers from retaliating against employees for reporting work-related injuries or illnesses. The subsequent interpretive guidance on this regulation discouraged employers from implementing
