Service Day Success
Thank you to everyone that made Service Day a huge success. CCA's amazing students and staff showed their strong character and represented CCA's core values. Many students and staff went out into the community visiting children at daycare facilities and seniors at retirement centers. Others helped here at CCA cleaning walls, sanitizing classrooms, taking care of the grounds, and making our school sparkle!
A Thank You Letter from A Community Member
Dear CCA,
I just got to work and over the weekend my staff hung up on the residents' doors the turkeys that the CCA students made with and for our residents as part of their community service project. It made me smile. They are so fun and creative and festive.

But you know who really smiled at me this morning? Yuri, our Ukrainian resident who chatted away on Friday in Russian with the CCA students. If you could have seen his face light up when he heard the kids talk to him in his language it brought tears to my eyes. This is what service day is all about. I explained to the students how no one here can speak to Yuri except one staff member and she doesn’t work every day, can you imagine being in a place where you are so lone because you do not speak the language? They made Yuri’s day.

I love working with the CCA students and hosting community service day.

Service Awards
The exemplary teachers and staff at CCA is an integral part of why CCA is such a fabulous school. On Friday, October 5th, we honored those who have been here for 5 years (Travis Hargreaves & Priya Nair), 10 years (Meg MacFarland & Nicole Nistal), 15 years (Tracy Pasca) and 20 years (Jodi Peterson). A big thanks for their contributions over the years!
CCA has teamed up with Original Artworks to offer a fun program! Your child will be creating his/her own artwork in their art class and you will have the opportunity to order a variety of useful items professionally made featuring your child’s own artwork!  The items include but not limited to ceramic mug, key chain, ornament, dog tag, nightlight, mousepad, pillow case, magnetic frame, kitchen towel and much more.  There are some sample items displayed in the hallway in school for you to check out.

Why do this? To invest in the creativity of your child and boost their self esteem! Besides, part of your purchase goes to CCA PTO. With the funds raised, PTO sponsors events such as carnival, donuts with dads, muffin with moms, multicultural festival, Thanksgiving baskets for teachers to name a few. In addition, they are invested back in school through a grant program for teachers. Why not enjoy your children’s arts and also help school?
Mr. Hargreaves/Mrs. Mahan will give a free dress day to the class with the highest participation/sale!

The students will bring home their artwork and order forms on October 22nd. More details to follow, stay tuned!

NOTE: Last week's Eagle had older dates for Original Artworks, that has been corrected in both Master Calendar and Red, Blue white calendar with the updated dates.

The More You Know: Tips from Maverick
Healthy Habits at CCA
Health is essential to optimal learning. Health Services are available to all students within Cherry Creek School District. Registered nurses strive to maximize each student's potential by removing health-related barriers to learning. When meeting the student's health needs during the school day, clinic staff also use the opportunity to teach students to make wise choices that will be beneficial to their future health. For more information, please visit the Cherry Creek School District Health Services' page .
You must keep children home if their temperature is 100.3° or above without medication.

Please keep sick children home in order to preserve a healthy school environment and prevent the spread of illness.

Ms. Anderson is a Colorado native and the proud mom of an awesome 7 year old boy named James.

Ms. Anderson is so grateful to have a job she looks forward to coming to each day and coworkers that she adores. Her proudest achievement at CCA (thus far) is the new website.

Finding Carpools: Schoolpool
Tired of the daily drop off and pick up lines.
We have a solution to cut down on the traffic.
Join Cherry Creek Academy’s Schoolpool program to connect
with other families to drive, walk or bike to school together.

Cherry Creek Academy has partnered with Way to Go to offer this program to our parents as a free service with the goal of reducing traffic congestion and minimizing the stress of getting children to and from school. Rest assured, your information will only be shared with participating Cherry Creek Academy families. No one else will ever see your information, unless you elect to share your information with families at other schools. It’s free and there is no obligation to participate. Schoolpool is a service of Way to Go, a federally funded program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG).

Create an account and register your household address or intersection here: https://mywaytogo.org/s/schoolpool-cherry-ceaf14. To maintain the highest level of privacy and security, this link is the only way for Cherry Creek Academy participants to register

Information is provided for your use only. Cherry Creek Academy and Way to Go do not run background checks, confirm valid driver’s licenses or assess insurance coverage on participants. Potential users are advised to screen participants to their personal satisfaction and check their own insurance coverage for carpooling to ensure that they are covered under these voluntary arrangements. No drivers, vehicles or insurance are provided.

The Schoolpool secure mapping service can be used for trip planning, or emergency trips and is a great resource to meet nearby families for other reasons such as play-dates and baby sitters.

The more families that register, the more likely you are to find good matches.

Contact Way to Go at 303-458-7665 or waytogo@drcog.org for assistance.
