Anne Arundel County Council Bill

First, our apologies for the late notice on this one, we got notice of this bill and the hearing from a few sources today.

Councilman Pete Smith from District 1 has introduced this legislation that could impact all massage businesses, including sole proprietors. Please take a minute to read the bill:

AMTA Position
While AMTA -MD does not completely oppose massage business regulation, we do oppose legislation that is unfair and does not treat us as the respected health care professionals that we are.  This legislation, as written, has a law enforcement focus that is concerning.

AMTA-MD would be happy to work with the County Council to improve this legislation so that it regulates our profession fairly and in the same manner as other health care professions such as physical therapists and chiropractors.
