CSS Head of School Message |  Announcing Tuition for 2020-2021
Dear Families,

As we close out Semester I and 2019, our Board of Trustees and administrative team are making plans for the 2020-2021 school year. I'm pleased to announce that The Colorado Springs School Board of Trustees has voted to continue the Tuition Lock program for a fourth year. The Tuition Lock Program allows current families that re-enroll by Feb 15th to avoid annual increases in tuition ( Tuition Lock FAQs ). This rewards our current families for their commitment to a CSS education, allows them to plan for the future, and is part of our strategic plan to bolster enrollment and retain mission-minded students and families. As the last four years have shown, growing our student body benefits the overall health of the school and our students in many ways, including increased academic, athletic, and social opportunities. Thank you for investing in your child's future and for being with us today and going forward.

Re-enrollment Action Steps
Your payment of a $1,000 non-refundable deposit between February 1-15 will complete your re-enrollment contract, ensuring that:
  • Your student(s) have a spot in their class(es) for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Families enrolled at CSS prior to this year continue to benefit from locked tuition.
  • First-year CSS Families will have their current tuition rates locked at the 2019-2020 rates (see below).

The Value of Tuition Lock

Children's School:
First-year families that re-enroll by February 15 in Children's School will lock in the current (2019-2020) tuition rate for the duration of their students' attendance in grades K-5th. For a single student entering Kindergarten, this program could save a family as much as $9,100* per student. Tuition Lock does not apply to PreKindergarten.

Middle School: First-year families that re-enroll by February 15 in Middle School will lock in the current ( 2019-2020) tuition rate for the duration of their students' attendance in the Middle School and the Upper School. For a single student entering 6th grade, this program could save families as much as $2,100* through 8th grade. If a student remains at CSS for Middle and Upper School, his/her tuition rate locks in for all of Upper School at the rate the Upper School tuition was when the student entered Middle School. For a single student, under this plan, the seven years of Middle and Upper School could save a family as much as $17,100* per student.

Upper School: First-year families that re-enroll by February 15 in Upper School will lock in the current ( 2019-2020) tuition rates for the duration of their students' attendance in Upper School (9th-12th grade). For a single student entering in 9th grade, the four years of Upper School could save a family as much as $4,800* per student.

*Note: The accumulated savings are estimated based on attendance for all grades in the division, paying full current tuition and compared to increases based on past history at CSS and tuition gradients common among peer schools. For purposes of the bar chart examples, a 3.2% tuition increase gradient is used to calculate potential value. Actual tuition increases and tuition policies are approved by the CSS Board of Trustees annually.

If you have questions about how this pertains to your individual family, please don't hesitate to contact the Admission Office.

My best,

Aaron Schubach
