The Job Foundation, a not-for-profit Financial Stewardship Mentoring Program, is seeking a dedicated full-time Volunteer & Events Coordinator.  

The Job Foundation is committed to ending financial disadvantage, especial repeat generational poverty.  The Job Foundation's vision is "All Children Achieving Financial Success.".  The Coordinator will partner with volunteers in all areas of The Job Foundation for maximum impact on our children and their futures and manage the logistics of events. Join the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County in celebrating our 150th Birthday in the Cedar Valley
on Friday, March 1st from 5-10 pm at the  Five Sullivan Brother's Convention Center in Downtown Waterloo

Food and drinks available all night for purchase.
Through this event, our Y will  be able to  celebrate all of the strides we have made toward strengthening our community in the past 150 years. We invite community members of all ages to come celebrate with us.  Let us know if you're coming by visiting our  Facebook event .



Calling all Monopoly board game lovers in the Cedar Valley! The Job Foundation is hosting a Valleyopoly Game Night! Valleyopoly is a monopoly-style board game customized to
highlight businesses in the Cedar Valley. 


The Valleyopoly Game Night will take place on Thursday, March 28,

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank's 10th Empty Bowls event is happening March 29, 2019, from 6:00PM until 9:30PM at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

The event will include a live auction, silent auction, live music, a soup buffet, raffle drawings all night long, as well as an update on what hunger initiatives look like in northeast Iowa in 2019. 

Empty Bowls is an effort from artists, volunteers, businesses, students, restaurants, food-lovers, and ALL of northeast Iowa dedicated to alleviating hunger in our 16 county service area. All are welcome, and trust us, you DON'T want to miss this year's auction and raffle opportunities, we have quite a few surprises lined up for you.

Nominations Please

The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley is accepting nominations now through Friday, March 1st  for the 2019 Mayors' Volunteer Awards and Top Teen Volunteer Awards. The awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to service through volunteerism in the Cedar Valley.

The Mayors' Volunteer Awards honor the exemplary contributions of individuals ages 19 and older who dedicate their time and talent to volunteerism in Cedar Falls, Waterloo, Evansdale and surrounding communities in Black Hawk County.

The Mayors' Top Teen Awards honor youth ages 13-18 attending a school in Black Hawk County. The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa also selects one junior from each of the accredited high schools in Black Hawk County to receive the $1000 Mother Moon Service Scholarship.

All nominees and recipients will be recognized at special events on April 9 at the Diamond Event Center in Cedar Falls.  Nominations can be submitted  online .  Questions? Email  [email protected] !
