Students give back with H.E.ART pop-up gallery

A group of Bellevue Big Picture students are planning to make a philanthropic splash in the Bellevue student art world this spring.

Senior  Victoria Helmer says that after doing two of her Big Picture internships at the Foundation, she's inspired to give back. Victoria and her classmates, Joey DaSilva, Anjali Skilton, and Isabella Burckhardt have been busy at the Foundation offices every Thursday under the mentorship of Director Lynn Juniel, coordinating a pop-up student art gallery called H.E.ART that will  both showcase student artists and raise funds for the arts in schools.

Between 50 and 100 student artists will be featured, with their works for viewing and for sale at Crossroads Mall between March 21 and April 4. Art submissions with a Pacific Northwest theme are being accepted until March 7; visit heartgallerybellevue.com for more information or follow the group on instagram @heartgallerybellevue.

Learn about the Levies
on the Ballot this Feb. 13!

Bellevue has not one, but three local levies up for renewal this Feb. 13, and each is important for maintaining the education program that the community demands and our 20,000+ students deserve. Education that includes features like 7th period, arts and music in our schools, laptops and STEM education, and so much more--and that wouldn't be possible without the levies for funding.

Learn more about the importance of the Education and Operations Levy, the Capital and Technology Levy, and the School Bus Levy at Bellevue Quality Schools' website. And then be sure to VOTE on Feb. 13!
