CAC Receives Grant from Publix

CAC is pleased to announce a $15,000 Food For All grant from Publix to support CAC's food assistance program! The check was recently presented by Bob Pendleton, Publix District Manager, to Tamara Carrera, CAC Executive Director.  Also present were store managers Bernard Owens and Mike Reilly, and Nancy Doss of the CAC Board of Directors.

The grant is made possible by the Publix 2017 Food For All holiday campaign. Funds are used to support programs designed to fight hunger and promote self-sufficiency in Publix communities.
Together we Help Families Stay in Their Homes

When you give your time, talent or treasure to CAC you help local families and individuals facing crisis situations stay in their homes and avoid eviction and homelessness. A little support from CAC goes a long way for those who need help during difficult times as they work to improve their situations, such as this family with 3 children:

My husband lost his job about a month ago and is still in the process of getting another job. Our finances are very limited and we are seeking assistance with food and clothing. Thank you.
Take a Class - Teach a Class!

At CAC we seek to provide the basic needs of food, shelter and clothing, and also to help our neighbors help themselves. Through CAC's Adult Education program, local residents can take FREE classes to improve life skills and job skills. In 2017 CAC had 800 students taking classes. We offer English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), a 5-month course; as well computers for beginners, Microsoft Office workshops, personal financial management and more. All classes are taught by volunteers! Join us at CAC to take a class or teach a class! Contact Monica at [email protected].
Join the CAC Volunteer Team!

CAC is growing and seeking more volunteers to operate all areas of the Center! Join the hundreds of volunteers who help our neighbors in need. Give your time in one of many areas of CAC such as the food pantry, CAC Boutique, reception desk or as a client interviewer or adult education teacher. Please visit our website for a list of immediate needs. Groups also welcome. Contact Debbie at [email protected] to join our team!
