"Lent is a period of spiritual 'combat' which we must experience alongside Jesus, not with pride and presumption, but using the arms of faith: prayer, listening to the word of God and penance. In this way we will be able to celebrate Easter in truth, ready to renew the promises of our Baptism"
-Pope Benedict XVl

Report Cards go home

PGE notified us recently of some work they would be doing in the Mark West Area over the next several weeks that require helicopters and crews working to upgrade power lines in the area. Today, they were working on the hill behind and above our campus. We just want to clarify to everyone that there is no need to worry. This morning was quite a treat for some of our students who witnessed workers dangling from lines hanging from the helicopter while being transported to the top of the hill! As some yelled out, "that's so cool!"....It was!
A Note from Mrs. Ryan
Dear Parents,

We are excited to be hosting the first annual Diocesan Music Festival at St. Rose next week. Schools from all over our diocese are sending choirs and musicians to perform. The theme for this first festival is sacred music. Our 5 th and 6 th grade classes and our concert band will be representing St. Rose. Mrs. Paulsen has been working on a song entitled The Beginning of Love with the 5 th and 6 th graders. Our band will perform an arrangement of Dona Nobis Pacem.

The main audience for the festival will be the 250 students who are actually performing and their parent and teacher chaperones. Although seating and parking will be limited, St. Rose parents are invited to attend, particularly if your child is performing. We ask all who attend to plan to stay and appreciate the entire performance rather than just for the time your child is performing. The festival is meant to showcase the fine arts programs that are flourishing in the various Catholic elementary and high schools in our diocese.  All choir and band members will receive a special medallion.
Festival Date:    Tuesday, March 19 th
Time:               9:15 AM to 11:15 AM
                                    Place:              St. Rose Gym

There are 12 member schools throughout Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino Counties.
St. Rose fields teams in:
  • 5-8th grade Girls Volleyball

The NB CSL holds a one day Track & Field event in May for K - 8th grades (Participation in the Track & Field day event requires much parent participation. Not all schools are able to participate if there is not enough parent or student interest)

Did YOU play basketball or volleyball in high school or college? Interested in coaching? Do you have some talents to bring to St. Rose?  If so, contact Ms. KC at: [email protected]. We're always looking for good talent to share with our kids.

School VB teams begin practicing in early August, before school begins. Teams must be formed in May. Look for registration to be sent home in April.

5th - 8th Boys & Girls Basketball registration will begin the first week of school in August.

New Ordering process for School Uniforms - UPDATE
The NEW St. Rose Uniform online Store will open for ordering on May 1st.
Parents will now place uniform orders online and will pay via bank / credit cards.

This first ordering opportunity is for AUGUST DELIVERY- right before school starts.
The store will only be open during preset ordering 'windows' or dates 5 times a year.

The school will continue to keep a range of sample sizes for those who need to determine sizing, and we'll keep a small inventory of items to fill emergency orders when the store is closed. (The store ordering 'windows' will occur several times throughout the year. That schedule will be posted once determined.

St. Rose will hold a TRY ON date where parents can bring students to try on samples to determine proper sizing before placing orders. That date will be sometime in June.     Check back later for all the info!
Parking Lot Safety
Safety First depends on your cooperation!
Please remember, and tell all those in your family who drive onto our campus, to please drive safely!

Some important safety reminders:
  1. Be patient. Drive slow. Be kind. Do not impede traffic flow or others.
  2. If your child goes to tutorial, do not get in the pick up line before 3:10 pm. Do not sit in the traffic circle waiting. Circle around back in line to keep traffic flow moving.
  3. DO NOT leave your car unattended in the traffic circle during drop off or pick up. Stay in your car and move as soon as your child gets in or out. If you have office business, please park in a designated parking spot.
  4. Morning drop off: everyone is in a hurry it seems to get to where they need to go. Please do not speed through campus. Do not pass unlawfully or unsafely. Be patient. Plan accordingly.
  5. If a staff member asks you to move your car or to park, they are doing what is in the best interests of everyone and to keep traffic moving. Please be respectful and do what they ask of you.
We thank you for your cooperation and appreciate your partnership in keeping everyone safe out there!
