LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE! December 7 is the due date for books checked out from the Main Stacks by students on or before Sunday, December 2. Books may be renewed once online or by bringing them in physically to the circulation desk if you have exceeded the renewal limit. The new due date is January 30, the last day of J-Term. Click on "Library Account" online , and sign in with your NorseKey to see what you have checked out and when it is due.

Santa will make an early stop in Decorah as Luther College celebrates "Christmas in the Union" from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, in the lobby of Dahl Centennial Union. 

Hot Reads for Cold Nights.  Love reading? Love winning prizes? Curl up with a book this winter and participate in Preus Library’s Hot Reads for Cold Nights . By reading books during winter break and J-term, you can earn chances to win fun prizes. Open to all students, faculty, and staff, whether you are on or off campus for J-term. Peace Scholar Applications, Due February 1 -- Sophomores and Juniors interested in studying in Norway this summer are invited to apply to the Peace Scholars program. An outgrowth of the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, this scholarship provides funding for two students to study for a week at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue in Lillehammer, and then for six weeks at the University of Oslo. Details can be found at: https://peacescholars. wordpress.com/ . Bring your laptop to our workshop and learn how to download Zotero and set it up to manage your resources (available for PCs and MACs). Luther College's annual Kwanzaa Celebration is Saturday, December 8, in Peace Dining Room beginning at 4:00 p.m. The featured speaker is Keith Mayes, Ph.D., Associate Professor of African American and African Studies at the University of Minnesota. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. No charge for Luther students. Faculty, staff and community members $5. EVERYONE MUST  REGISTER  BY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2018!

Now Scheduling Counseling Service Workshops — Counseling Service is now scheduling workshops for spring semester 2019. Counseling Service Outreach Assistants offer workshops on How to Help A Friend , Self Care and the Escalation Workshop (Relationship Violence) to classes, teams, student organizations, residence hall floors, or other interested groups. Find out more and fill out a request form here .

The Center for Sustainable Communities is hosting a clothing swap! Shop your friends’ closets (for FREE) and get rid of any old clothes. Bring your clean, gently used clothes/shoes/accessories to Valders 379 anytime December 3-6. On December 6, there will be a Kick-off Event for the swap from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. in Valders 379. After, the room will be open for swapping from December 7-11 from 2 p,m,-4 p.m. Swap your clothes for a more sustainable future!
