IDEA Service Dogs 



Do you live within 45 minutes of Keller, TX? Have you ever considered a service dog? Let us introduce you to IDEA Service Dogs. They are a local nonprofit and offer a different kind of assistance dog training program with professional trainers. If you would like to know more about this program, see their website  ideaservicedogs.org.

A Note From Kimberly....
age 54, living with quadriplegia due to a car accident.

"To Neuro Assistance Foundation,

I want to thank you for the wheelchair you have lent me and tell you how it has impacted me. 
It enabled me to go to the therapy room and get PT & OT that I would not have had if I had been 
 bed bound. It enabled me to interact with other patients which was very healing. I learned a card game from a gentleman that was fun. He would ask the therapists if I was coming to  therapy that day. The therapy room has lots of windows and light which was a tremendous pick me up.
The chair gave me independence. I was able to go outside and enjoy the courtyard and the fresh air. And the wheelchair gave me the privilege of eating my meals up in a chair.
Thank you very much for what you have done for me!

2018 proved to be another successful year for the Neuro Assistance Foundation. We celebrated ten years in the community and expanded services to Houston. We are excited to see what opportunities and clients the new year will bring!

Rolling to Walking 
Science is Making Strides

The New York Times wrote on a new scientific discovery in the continued research to healing paralysis. Utilizing an implant that sends electrical stimulation to the spinal cord three men once paralyzed regained mobility. The article goes on to state that " The new report is the first demonstration of so-called patterned stimulation: an implant sends bursts of targeted stimulation to the muscles that intend to move. In effect, the stimulation occurs on an as-needed basis, roughly mimicking the body's own signaling mechanism". Introducing You to Our Clients
Meet Jose....

We provide many different types of assistance here at NAF. One  we enjoy giving is the gift of intensive therapy for those who didn't really receive enough when they were injured or have different needs due to the passing years. We are so happy to provide therapy assistance to Jose, age 55. Jose was injured in 1987 in a motorcycle accident and although he has lived with a T6 spinal cord injury for 31 years, this round of intensive therapy is sure to strengthen him for the coming years. Welcome to the NAF family, Jose!
Meet Oliver....
We were recently contacted to help 3-year old Oliver as his parents had recently lost insurance coverage. Oliver has spina bifida and has a feeding tube. His parents were quoted a private pay price of over $800 per month to purchase his feeding supplies. The children's hospital contacted NAF to ask for help.
NAF committed to providing the supplies for Oliver while his parents search for new coverage.

Your $25 donation will help provide clean catheters to a paralyzed child for one month when their insurance won't cover the expense.

Your $100 donation will help build a wheelchair ramp so we can get our clients out of rehab and through their front door at home.

Your $200 donation will help widen the doorways in their homes so their wheelchair can fit through the bathroom door. Insurance doesn't covers home modifications.

Your $500 donation will help provide life-changing medical equipment: wheelchairs and specialized shower chairs, etc. Most insurance only covers a small part of wheelchairs, if any, and no "bathing aids" are covered.
