April 2018
ICYMI: Early Release on April 27
The Colorado Education Association (CEA) is planning a statewide rally of educators on Friday, April 27, to advocate for greater state funding, and the Denver Classroom Teachers Association (DCTA) expects that many of our teachers will participate. As such, we've been working with our teachers and specialized service providers (SSPs) on a plan that will have as minimal impact as possible on our students and families. That's why we have decided to schedule an early release day for all district-managed schools on Friday, April 27. Review this letter from Tom Boasberg for more information. As a reminder, school-support team members need to honor their work schedule on April 27, as DPS buildings will be kept open that day. Please remind your team members to request leave if they plan to join the teachers.
Remind Your Teams: Benefits Open Enrollment Starts Monday, ends May 11
Benefits Open Enrollment is April 23-May 11. Managers, please remind your teams that all benefits-eligible employees must take action and enroll in or waive benefits during Open Enrollment. This is the one time each year that team members can select, change or waive their benefits.

Encourage team members to attend one of our five regional benefits pop-up fairs and access these resources on The Commons to help choose benefits that work best for them:
  • The 2018-19 Enrollment Guide is a comprehensive resource on plans, rates and more. Don't forget: Starting in July, all team members will receive two paychecks per month. The rates in the benefits guide are your cost per paycheck.

Approve or Add LIFT Goals by April 30
Approve or reject  any pending goals or  add goals  now for your LIFT-eligible employees. Any goals not active and approved in Infor HR by April 30 will not be included in the year-end appraisal. The only goals that will be visible and formally rated in the year-end appraisal will be goals that are approved by managers prior to April 30. Any goals approved after that date will not appear in the appraisal and will have to be manually entered in the overall comments section of the appraisal.

Approving goals ensures that the year-end process will go smoothly for you and your employees, and that all achievements are documented.  For additional goal-setting resources, visit the LIFT page on The Commons .

Posting Jobs is Easier than Ever in Infor HR
Updates to Infor HR have greatly improved the process of posting jobs.  The new " Manage My Positions"  screen has everything you need to post a job opening, including HR and Finance Job Codes, the Organization Unit and a quick view of vacant positions. The new " My Posted Positions"  screen also provides an at-a-glance view into all of your open job posts.  For more support with hiring, access additional resources including:
Teacher Permission Deadline for School Support Roles
May 1 is the last day for DPS teachers and teacher leaders to be moved to "Qualify" in Infor HR for a school-support office role without permission from their current principal. The hiring manager will specify during the reference check which leader at the teacher's school granted permission.

Teachers whose 2017-18 positions have been reduced for the 2018-19 school year do not need permission to transfer. Teachers who are being promoted also don't need permission to transfer. While permission may not be necessary, a reference check should be completed for all hires.
Updates & FYI
Be Sure Your New Employees Attend Required Orientation
Support your new team members by encouraging them to register for an upcoming New Employee Orientation, where they'll  learn more about our culture, benefits, compensation, retirement and more. They'll also leave with resources to support them during their first months at DPS. Please give them  time to attend, and don't schedule conflicting appointments during their required orientation.
  • In-person orientation sessions are scheduled every other week. They provide new team members with opportunities to talk directly with Employee Services representatives.
  • A recorded webinar is also available for team members who can't attend in-person orientations.
  • New Employee Orientation attendance is now tracked in Infor HR. Use this step-by-step guide to check the status of this and other onboarding tasks for new employees.
If you have questions, email  [email protected].
Updated Process for Granting and Revoking Infor HR Proxy Access
Managers can grant proxy access to other members of their team so they can process Infor HR transactions on their manager's behalf. There are two types of proxy access:
  • Hiring manager access allows proxies to assist with posting jobs and other hiring actions.
  • Manager access allows proxies access to direct report information and other personnel-related actions.
The process to grant or revoke proxy access within Infor HR has changed slightly. Check out step-by-step guides for instructions on how to grant proxy access or to revoke proxy access. You should only grant this access to trusted individuals because you are still responsible for all transactions made on your behalf.
