ACPHS Strategic Plan:
Charting the Path Forward

The time has come to reevaluate and rewrite the College's new strategic plan. We are excited to begin this process as a community while taking into account the current strengths of the College as well as identifying opportunities for growth. The process will draw on input from faculty, staff and students and will culminate in a plan to carry us forward into the next five years.

Competition for recruiting traditional students has increased, so we will look to expand our academic base to ensure that we are not dependent on one discipline while still remaining a pharmacy school at our core.

We will keep you informed as the plan progresses and as important decisions materialize.

You can read more on the strategic plan and Dr. Dewey's thoughts in his latest blog post.

Two Hoops Players Eclipse 1,000 Point Plateau for their Careers

On January 28, women's basketball player Dannie Griffin surpassed the 1,000 point mark for her Panther career. After reaching the milestone with a first quarter layup, the fourth year player from Patterson, NJ, showed no signs of letting up, finishing the game with 21 points and 19 rebounds. Earlier this year, Alex Johnson reached the 1,000 point mark for the men's team. Like Griffin, Johnson is also having a stellar season. Through 22 games this year, the Malone, NY standout leads the Panthers with 17.7 points per game. The men's team is ranked #15 in the country in the latest USCAA poll.

Snow Day, Snow Day, Snow Day!

ACPHS students were excited to get a little time off during the February 7 snowstorm when classes were cancelled. Local news network, WNYT, found them letting out their inner child, sledding in Lincoln Park.

One said, "We're all in pharmacy school so it's quite a bit of work so it's just fun to get out of here unwind a bit and slide down the hill like you were when you were a kid."
We Had a Ball!

You know what's fun? Basketball. You know what's more fun? Basketball with friends. Thank you to our alumni and guests who recently joined OIA's Bill Jabour and John Ross at the Syracuse University Carrier Dome for great conversations, fun times and even a little basketball. Bill and John were thrilled to see alumni from '67, including Ed Stevens, Don Charles, and Jack Pross. We want to wish Ed the best of luck in his retirement! Carol '89 and Scott '89 Sherwood shared that their son Bryan, a current student at ACPHS, was just inducted into Pharmacy Leadership Society.

They also spent some time in Toronto with one of our favorites in tow, John Denio, which made the trip even better for everyone!

Keep your eye out for the next alumni event in your area.
